Those who had to RTO, how's it been?

For anyone who was forced to RTO or hybrid, how has it worked out now?

The devil is in the details. In terms of hybrid (mandatory 2 in office) I'm in worse-case scenario territory, with a 1+ hour drive/30+ mile one way trip to get into an office where I jump onto a zoom call because my co-workers work elsewhere. Its clearly a huge waste of my time, that could be spent working and actually getting stuff done. Of course my case is not universal, but it doesn't matter from an organizational perspective. If you are an organizational leader don't let my case happen. The most important resource is time. RTO is a waste of my time.

I’m in a similar situation. My commute would be 30 mins but that’s without traffic. Usually it’s 40-50. The majority of my team members work at another location 1.5 hours away. There’s only two of us that work at my location and we rarely interact for work because we’re in different fields on the project.

It’s a waste of time, money, and gas! Ironic, because my company boasts about being environmentally friendly while I burn gas just to sit on zoom.

I’m hoping to leave after I get my bonus and head to NYC, my home. If I have a 50 minute commute at least it will be on a train.
