Beginning in the 1990s, business process “re-engineering” caused most companies to focus heavily on core technology to transform their businesses. Consequently, Knowledge Work Standardization (more than 75% of total improvements) remains untapped leaving gaps for new technology like business intelligence software and robotic process automation.
